Background: Our client, pilot Deevz Haridas, approached us with the task of creating a website for his business Pilot Republic, which focuses on building a community of pilots seeking a work visa to the United States. The main goal of the site was to evoke an emotional response from visitors through an attractive UI design and ensure a high conversion rate through a carefully crafted user experience. Another important task was to achieve recognition on the Awwwards platform, which we successfully achieved by winning Site of the Day.
Design core: The main design elements of the site are a simple and intuitive layout, large background images in a vintage style, and scrolling animations. The site’s main function is to collect applications through the feedback form.
Favorite details: We are proud of every detail on this site because every detail was carefully worked out, which allowed us to create a complete and visually appealing product.
Challenges: The horizontal scrolling section. This nonstandard approach took a lot of time to implement properly. It was also a challenge to adapt the site for different devices.
Time constraints: Time constraints forced us to focus on the most critical aspects of the project without unnecessary experiments. If we had more time, we might have made additional improvements to the interactive elements and animations to make the user experience even more impressive. In the process, we learned to work more effectively with responsive solutions and the implementation of nonstandard elements like the horizontal scroll.
Navigation: The website navigation was designed to be as simple as possible, similar to many corporate websites. It includes a homepage, a services page, a general blog page and pages with articles.
Technology: We chose the Webflow platform as the basis for development. Despite the fact that it is a code-free platform, we wrote a lot of our own code in JavaScript and also used third-party libraries such as GSAP, jQuery, Lenis and Swiper. The main focus was on smoothness, adaptability and simplicity without overly complex technical solutions.
